On Sunday, April 22nd, 2012 a commemoration was held at Jasenovac Memorial Site, by the Flower monument, to mark the 67th anniversary of the prisoner breakout from Jasenovac Concentration Camp which happened on April 22nd, 1945.
The commemoration was attended by survivors of Jasenovac Concentration Camp, families and friends of victims, as well as the President of the Republic of Croatia Ivo Josipović, Croatian Prime Minister Zoran Milanović and the Speaker of the Croatian Parliament Boris Šprem, all of whom made speeches. The president of the Advisory Board of Jasenovac Memorial Site Katica Sedmak and a representative of former prisoners of Jasenovac Concentration Camp Brigita Knežević also spoke at the ceremony.
