On Sunday, April 17th, 2011 a commemoration was held at Jasenovac Memorial Site, by the Flower monument, to mark the 65th anniversary of the prisoner breakout from Jasenovac Concentration Camp which happened on April 22nd, 1945.
The commemoration was attended by survivors of Jasenovac Concentration Camp, families and friends of victims, as well as the President of the Republic of Croatia Ivo Josipović, Croatian Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor and the Speaker of the Croatian Parliament Luka Bebić, all of whom made speeches. The president of the Advisory Board of Jasenovac Memorial Site Katica Sedmak and a representative of former prisoners of Jasenovac Concentration Camp Stevo Đurđević also spoke at the ceremony.
