On June 18th, 2010 Bogdan Bogdanović, architect, sculptor and philosopher, died at the age of 87.
He was the author of many books, subject of many exhibitions, and author of numerous monuments. The Jasenovac Flower was one of them.
In 2004 he donated several hundred of his drawings and sketches for the Flower to Jasenovac Memorial Site.
In 2007 Bogdan Bogdanović received the Carlo Scarpa award for the best memorial for his landscaping of Jasenovac Memorial Site.
He considered the Jasenovac Flower his favourite monument.
