The tannery

The Tannery work detail was housed in buildings belonging to the pre-war tanners’ guild, and included workshops and machinery, warehouses and two accommodation units for prisoners.

A memorial plaque has been placed on the Tannery building, which, as part of the camp, was located in the village of Jasenovac to honor the inmates who lost their lives there.

The buildings of the former Tannery, completely burned down during the Homeland war, are being renovated. A retirement home will be housed in the Tannery building, and the upper floor will be an exhibition area for temporary exhibitions.
